The separation of particles or fibers from air flows (filtration) is of great importance in many areas of application. Typical examples include fiber production or processing, but also the manufacture or packaging of insulation material. An optimum, stable configuration of a filter system is therefore essential for process and product quality. This applies to both new and existing systems, as the consequences of inadequate filtration performance range from an increased particle fraction in the exhaust air to a complete system shutdown.
As part of LTG's engineering services, we support you both in the configuration of new systems and in the optimization or troubleshooting of existing systems, for example in the selection of a suitable filter medium. This can be done either by means of laboratory tests with original particles from your system or during an on-site filter screening, in which various filter media are tested for their suitability directly in the process. For this purpose, a corresponding partial volume flow is taken isokinetically and passed through a series connection of filter sample and absolute filter in order to determine pressure loss changes or subsequent mass increases. In this way, the ideal filter medium can be quickly found from several options under realistic conditions.
We also draw up specific proposals for process improvements for existing systems, for example to increase energy efficiency, on the basis of an in-depth on-site analysis.
When redesigning your machinery, for example, we support you with the necessary new planning and dimensioning of the piping.
