Let‘s realize the potential of air for a sustainable world
We are pioneers in air technology and air conditioning technology for 100 years
On this page you will experience an interesting journey through time and the history of LTG. Immerse yourself in the world of six generations with all their traditions, values, challenges, goals and find out the differences and similarities to our present time.
Silent Generation
1924 – 1945
Born after or during the war, this generation is resilient and disciplined. Stability, authority and hard work play a big role. Therefore it is not surprising that Dr.-Ing. Albert R. Klein, founding father of LTG, worked hard and disciplined at that time, founded the Cärrier Lufttechnische Gesellschaft and thus paved the way for today’s LTG Aktiengesellschaft. He consistently turned what was then Germany’s very first engineering office into a technical trendsetter, equipping many industrial processes and buildings with air conditioning for the first time: porcelain was dried for the first time, tobacco was humidified, office buildings were air-conditioned for the first time and theaters were intelligently ventilated – LTG was always involved.

The automobile, tobacco, shoe and porcelain industries benefit from stable humidity and stable production temperatures for the first time. This improves quality and reduces waste. The principle of recycling raw materials via filter systems is now more important than ever under the heading of recycling.
Baby Boomer
1946-1964
Baby booming, ambitious and shaping today’s Germany – the post-war generation is the first to experience the benefits of technological progress, such as the rise of television and later the Internet. This time of optimism and innovation did not stop at LTG and its developments: On the one hand, spinning mills at that time benefited from LTG’s broken thread extraction systems, which collected and disposed of spinning waste or prepared it for further use. On the other hand, the first patent of the founding father of LTG, an induction ventilation system, is further optimized in line with the prevailing mood of innovation and proves itself in use in office buildings from the 1960s. The comfort air conditioning business area is also growing through orders for the air conditioning of film studios, cinemas, theaters and hospitals.

In 1927, with the support of Dr.-Ing. Albert R. Klein, the company sports community is founded. As a result of drafts for military service, company sport came to an almost complete standstill from 1944 onwards. It wasn’t until 1948 that gaming operations continued. Football, gymnastics, fistball – it’s sporty at LTG!

Health
The physical fitness of employees is promoted by an in-house football team. The thermal well-being of people indoors is studied empirically for the first time and creates comfort parameters that still exist today.
Environment
A social awareness of sustainability is emerging. Immission control establishes itself as part of industrial processes. For example, dryers are used that burn solvents and recycle heat.
Cost
The first oil crisis in 1973 increases awareness of energy-saving air conditioning. Advances in computer technology make it possible to carry out the first dynamic calculations of energy consumption in 1974.
Millenials
1981-1994
The Internet, cell phones and social media shape the communication behavior and information gathering of this generation. It is driven by a heightened awareness of global problems, social justice and environmental protection. In keeping with the spirit of the times, LTG pursuis the topic of sustainability with vigor. Political requirements, such as thermal insulation regulations, make energy-saving construction and ventilation of buildings necessary. LTG is developing the first electronic assemblies for building automation, which are incorporated into the results of dynamic calculations. The groundbreaking engineering project to equip the Great Pyramid with an indoor air system also takes place during this time.

Generation Z
1995-2009
Intensive use of social media, streaming services, online gaming and digital platforms from an early age is characteristic of the first digital natives. Creative, innovative and technology-savvy, this generation is increasingly committed to multiculturalism and environmental issues in society. Driven by the technological possibilities of the time, LTG develops the first airstream simulator for the automotive industry, which is still being used successfully in an optimized version. The Kyoto Protocol with target values for greenhouse gases and the Renewable Energy Act reinforce the importance of a green future. During this time of global reorganization, LTG is also restructured into a stock corporation.
