On an area of around 25,000 square meters, the experimenta in Heilbronn offers a world of knowledge and experience that is unique in Europe, making it Germany’s largest science center. After almost four years of planning and construction, the experimenta Science Center opened its doors to the public on March 31, 2019. The bare figures alone are impressive: 5039 tons of steel and 32,500 tons of concrete are growing out of the 5100 square meter excavation pit. A gross floor area of 18,052 square meters is being built according to the plans of the Berlin architects Sauerbruch Hutton. The discovery worlds house 275 interactive exhibits on four floors of the new building.
