Vodafone Campus, Düsseldorf
Vodafone Germany’s new company headquarters was built on the former Gatzweiler site in the Heerdt district of Düsseldorf. The construction project was one of the largest in Europe, covering 86,000 m2 and accommodating 4,700 workstations. Following the start of construction in September 2010, the major project was completed after 27 months in December 2012.
In addition to the office buildings, services such as a fitness center, a day-care center and restaurants were also built to create the most attractive working environment possible for Vodafone employees. New ground was broken here not only in terms of design, but also in terms of environmental friendliness, and the aim was to achieve LEED Gold certification for energy efficiency, which is awarded by the U.S. Green Building Council LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) to sustainably designed buildings.
Criteria include water and energy consumption. LTG Aktiengesellschaft made an effective contribution to energy efficiency with the delivery of 3500 HFB-H and HFB-Z units each.
These induction units were specially adapted to the client’s low performance specifications with regard to air and water volumes, which were required by the planner. This further improved the price-performance ratio and gave the company a competitive edge. Additional optimization was achieved by adapting the workflow and production processes at the Weil der Stadt plant. The decisive factor in the decision to award the contract to LTG was a test setup by our engineering service.

Here, the devices were tested under real conditions and proved their performance.capability and energy efficiency, so that both specialist planners, general contractors and the customer can be sure that they have chosen the right products for their requirements with LTG’s HFB-H and HFB-Z. The success of the project and the minimization of costs were also largely due to the excellent cooperation at the interfaces between sales, design, production and order processing.
