Modern climate control concepts must dissipate heat and material loads safely and draught-free from the occupied zone. The LTG Indivent air-conditioning system makes it possible to extend displacement ventilation – the actual introduction and distribution of cooled fresh air close to the floor – to ceiling applications. The system achieves high thermal comfort by combining the advantages of mixed and displacement flow. The installation takes place on the corridor side in a false ceiling (without suspended ceiling) or in a suspended ceiling. The Indivent unit is connected to the primary air of the air conditioning system and to a cold water network.
A high-induction LTG linear diffuser type LDB with integrated recirculating air cooling is installed on the corridor side of the ceiling. Heating is provided by radiators on the window side. This arrangement ensures that the flow pattern is the same in summer and winter.
Recirculated air is drawn in from the room and conveyed through a heat sink. This mixture of outside air and recirculated air is blown into the room via a slot diffuser. The temperature difference between the room air and the supply air is reduced in the localized mixing zone. At the same time, the air velocities are reduced depending on the cooling load. The resulting cooling jet is deflected at floor level and moves at low speed and turbulence through the occupied zone towards the window. The air speed is almost independent of the cooling capacity. The temperature difference between the head and foot areas is a maximum of 1 Kelvin. Air heated by people or appliances flows upwards. A cushion of warmer room air with a higher concentration of substances forms above the occupied zone. Material and heat loads are removed from the room with the exhaust air. The temperature stratification of the Indivent system ensures economical operation.
The advantages at a glance:
Comfort
- High cooling capacity and uniform temperatures throughout the entire occupied zone.
- High thermal comfort due to low air velocity and low turbulence of the flow.
- Heat and released substances are dissipated upwards with the thermal energy, further improving the indoor air quality.
Economic efficiency
- Only a compact, space-saving air duct network is required, as the heat loads are effectively dissipated via a cold water network.
Flexibilität
- The interior designer can customize the ceiling, lighting and window side.
- The arrangement of the workstations in the room is freely selectable.
Products with the Indivent system: VKL (fan coil unit).
